Donny Winn | My Bacoflen Pump Surgery

Donny had his Surgery on Friday June 5, 2009. Dr Sasaski inserted the Bacoflen Pump on Donny’s right side because he always sleeps on his left. The reason I’m writing this blog for Donny is because he feels it’s important to let everyone know he had his surgery and everything went well. Unfortunately Donny is getting severe headaches from the surgery. I called his surgeon and Dr Lisk they said everything is fine and this can happen. It’s probably CSF (Cerebrospinal fluid) that drops out during surgery. Doctor’s orders were to lay flat on his back and drink plenty of fluids and lots of caffeine. That will help the headaches. We need him to go by Doctors order, because he will be going to Casa Colina inpatient program Tuesday or Wednesday. Donny is so ready to start the program! We are so proud of Donny. We are so pleased with his determination. Reality is setting in, he needs assistance getting up and walking. He has to start all over again learning to walk, but he’s’ ready. The day of his Surgery he had asked the surgeon if he can have Alex which is the Rep for Medtronic’s to video the procedure putting the Bacoflen Pump in. Thank You Alex that meant a lot to Donny. Donny was trying to put all the video clips together for the Web Site before he went to Casa Colina, but his headaches were very unpleasant. His Dad gave the video clips to Jefferson (He works in the Web Department of the Home Security Store) to put it together so he can have it on his site for everyone to see. I seen pieces of the videos and it looks very detailed. I think Donny will be pleased when it’s done.
Love Mom

  3. Hi Donny~
It’s Ebeth again. We all haven’t seen a posting, in this area of your site anyway, for awhile, so I’m checking to see that you’re feeling better and the roommate situation has improved.
I’m guessing that you’re busy working hard; that’s what it’s gonna take! YOU can do it, Donny~
I have personal experience with an auto accident TBI, as written to you a couple of days ago.
Still praying for you, as so many Many people are!

  4. Hi guy. I too have a TBI, AM a very lucky survivor of a car& semi accident last August. Was in a coma with a slight chance of survival and here i am. Getting used to being this other person takes awhile and I am sure
working at it. I have all the losses, memory, taste, balance, driving, decision making, working, spelling,
also go to a traumatic brain trauma center in my state and try to do the best that I can. I just think
that God chose for me to remain here for now. Some days seem better than others. The headaches,
the tiredness, are getting to be a way of life. I always think it could be so very much worse.
I try to find the best in each day and remain thankful…I think you are helping people and that
is such a good thing. Keep it up! A friend in Michigan….Holly
